For mystery trip this Sunday, don’t forget to bring $20, a swimsuit, sunscreen, and a towel! We will be leaving after church, see you at Sunday school at 9:30am!

No Wednesday night activities this week, but we will be out at the pickleball courts at Rader Park at 7:30! We will bring pickleball stuff if you don’t have anything!

Next week we’ll do our volleyball night!

Also, mystery trip is coming up! It’s $20 after church on August 10th! Bring a swimsuit and invite your friends for a fun time together, and invite any new 7th graders too! Let’s make them feel welcome!

GoStudents Utah Mission Trip Day 5 Recap-

This morning, we checked out of the Airbnbs and headed for the VBS. The final day involved our group clearly sharing the Gospel and ABCs with the kids. It was an unbelievable blessing seeing them lead the way they did!

In the afternoon, since we had a late flight, we spent it fellowshipping (and talking to everyone we could see!). While we were headed to park city, I could count at least 6 people that our students had genuine faith conversations with. We spent a majority of the rest of our time navigating traffic, and then had our goodbyes.

Church, your investment in the lives of youth is evident. Your continuous belief in their ability to lead is evident. Keep praying that they’d keep this energy up when they get home! The flight team had a safe travel back home, and our ground team is driving back tomorrow morning.

Thank you so much for all of your prayers, and we will see you next year, SLC!

GoStudents Utah Mission Trip Day 4 Recap-

Today was our last full day. We began like usual with the morning VBS, and this afternoon we canvassed a local neighborhood! During canvassing, while there were many doors unopened, the few that did open were great conversations. We saw some of them at the party in the park later tonight! It is such a joy to see God move!

Tonight, we had our final party in the park. Several people came curious, and the conversations about church led to many saying they might check out Hope Valley! Praise God! These students are doing a wonderful job getting out of their comfort zones.

We ended the night with worship! It was a beautiful picture of what the early church, or some church plants may look like now, as we sang together and talked about Jesus after that.

Church, pray for the parents and the kids tomorrow and that they would be receptive to the Gospel! Also pray that we would have safe travels as we head home tomorrow night!

GoStudents Utah Mission Trip Day 3 Recap-

In the morning, we led the VBS today. Every single one of our students got to lead in some capacity and get out of their comfort zones! The kids are being very receptive to the messages presented, and they are having lots of fun! It has been a joy to see everyone love these kids as much as they do.

This afternoon, we passed our flyers for a food drive as we collected cans for the Utah Food Bank. We used the food drive as a trampoline to dive into gospel centered conversations, and our students had great conversations! There was a very wide range of people that we got to talk to and pray with. Praise God!

Lastly, we ended the night with party in the park! A lot of the kids who came to VBS came back this evening, and we also got to talk to lots of people who were hanging around the park. It continues to be a blessing to be a part of showing the light of Jesus in a dark community!

Church, we continue to thank you for your prayers. Keep praying that the VBS’s would go well, that canvassing would lead to gospel centered conversations, and that the people of West Jordan would be open to the idea of attending Hope Valley church!

GoStudents Utah Mission Trip Day 2 Recap-

In the morning, we began helping set up for the kids camp that we are leading
this week. Our students had some great conversations, and even got out of their comfort zones by walking up to strangers and inviting them to come to the kids camp at the park!

After that, we toured in temple square through the conference center, tabernacle, and LDS museum. Our students asked great questions to the LDS missionaries, and began to learn so much more about the realities of the LDS faith. It becomes a lot more real when you are present in the middle of everything, and where the conferences happen. We got to learn a lot about the history behind Joseph Smith as well.

To end the night, we had our final team bonding/fellowship activity and debriefed the day praying over each other!

GoStudents Utah Mission Trip Day 1 Recap-

We began the day with our friends at Hope Valley church, and helped set up and tear down church! They meet in a dance studio here in West Jordan.

After that, our team did some bonding together at the beautiful Silver Lake before we went to training at dinner to talk about what we are doing this week! Starting at 8:30am tomorrow morning we will be busy! We are doing a kids camp in the morning, going around door to door praying with families and asking for donations for the food bank, and in the evening hosting a block party for the community targeted toward getting people to see that we care about their community! We also want them to visit Hope Valley church! This evening, we ended the night canvassing neighborhoods with 500 flyers between the two teams for our kids camp that starts tomorrow!

Church, pray that God would use the seeds planted this week to bear fruit through the curious minds of our lost friends that live out here! Thank you so much for your prayers already, and we are so excited for a great week!

EBC and our flying GoStudents crew!! We are meeting up with the 20 who drove all the way to Salt Lake City!
