Last Wednesday night, we gathered together to worship the Lord through song and praise. One of our deacons also walked us through the history of a beloved hymn "It Is Well with My Soul". The lyrics were penned by Horatio G. Spafford who suffered a series of immense tragedies - including, but not limited to, the loss of all 4 daughters in a shipwreck out at sea.
But because his faith and trust was rooted in Christ - he could have a peace that surpasses all understanding.
"When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul..."
To God be the Glory!
