Did you know that there is a BIG difference in taking pride in something and being
prideful?
Taking pride in something simply means you value it while being prideful is when
you feel like you need to be arrogant or better than everyone.
Pridefulness won’t get us where we want to go, and that’s exactly what we’re talking
about this week in our series Be Humble.

The Weatherford students ministry leaders are organizing a 5th quarter event following this Friday's football game, inviting all local 7-12 graders to join them in the south parking lot of FBC Weatherford for an evening of refreshments and entertainment.

I enjoyed spending time at the high school this morning for See You at the Pole; it's always encouraging to see students come out and pray for their schools.

Next Friday July 12 the youth group will be going to a baseball game in Oklahoma City. We will meet at the church at 5pm and will back around 11. They will just need to bring money for dinner at the ballpark everything else is covered. If you have any questions please reach out.

First few days at camp are going well! Please continue to pray for the students and sponsors as we finish out the week of camp.

In my reading this morning was this quote from rabbi Zusya he had said when he was older. He said, “In the coming world , they will not ask me: ‘Why were you not Moses?’ They will ask me ‘Why were you not Zusya?’” In today’s society it’s so easy to try and compare our lives to someone else’s. God has given each and everyone of us a purpose for our life. We are called to live out our own calling, not to try and live out someone else’s.

Congrats Jayden for placing 8th out of 747 students that is awesome!

Shoutout to Jayden Bunce for placing 8th out of 747 students in the Masonic Fraternity of Oklahoma’s Senior Essay Contest. Jayden wrote over the harmfulness of social media; she won $300 for her essay.

Jayden also wrote a poem, “The Journey in our Minds.” This poem was entered into a National Student Poetry Contest from Appelley Publishing.

This Wednesday we will be starting a new series called Difference Maker! As believers, we are called to be difference makers, and this series is designed to walk us through what it means to be a difference-maker and how to go about doing that as we learn from four biblical leaders that made a tremendous difference during their days.Hope to see everyone here on Wednesday!
