CONSECRATION: dedicated to a sacred purpose

Hello church family, I deeply love and appreciate you. We are entering into a beautiful month of dedicating ourselves to God’s Kingdom purposes and an intentional effort to experience and enjoy His presence.

This Sunday, please bring a gift to offer our Father during worship at the beginning of the service to kick off Consecration Month. Seek your heart for anything that competes with your affection for God and bring it, or a representation of it, packaged to present at the altar. Some examples might be coffee beans, sugar, alcohol, soft drinks, to***co, a printed screen shot of your social media page, a written commitment to be up at a certain time to be with God, etc. These items will remained sealed and disposed of after service.

In preparing your heart for this month, and this Sunday’s gathering, please take some to meditate on this passage. (Continued in comments)

October is Consecration Month!

This will be a significant time of intention and devotion.

Leading up to it, we’re all spending time in prayer about something to fast (giving something up that your flesh craves as a gift to God) for the month of October. This could be anything: daily habits, vices, digital platforms, certain foods or drinks, etc. On Sunday, September 27, bring the gift, or a physical representation of what you are offering to the Lord for the month. Have it wrapped as a gift or in an envelope. During worship, we will place our gifts on the altar. After service, the items on the altar will be disposed of —no one will ever see — this offering is between you and the Lord.

We will also have daily prayer times and weekly worship nights all through out October. Check the website for more info!

[Paul speaking] …”though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless. But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭4‬-‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬
