Calvary Church is a growing group of friends and neighbors from all over the Weatherford area who have two things in common: a love for God and a passion to serve our community. We come from many different backgrounds and are in various places in our spiritual journey. Some of us have been following Jesus for years and others aren't quite sure what to think of Jesus yet. We hope that no matter where you are with God, you'll find Calvary to be the best place to take your next step.

When the world seems out of control, God is still on the throne and in complete control.

Why God's Sovereignty Matters
1. God's Sovereignty Gives Us Confidence
Revelation was given to comfort believers, not frighten them.
Jesus already knows how the story ends.
God tells us what is coming so we can live with confidence.
Jesus will return and make all things new.

Key Verse: Isaiah 46:9-10

2. God's Sovereignty Gives Us Peace in Suffering
God knows every hardship we face.
He may not cause every painful event, but He can redeem every painful event.
What the enemy means for evil, God can use for good.
Evil does not get the final word.

Key Verse: Romans 8:28

3. God's Sovereignty Calls Us to Submit
We are not the rulers of our lives—God is.
Following Jesus means surrendering control to Him.
Every person will one day bow before Christ as Lord.
We can either cling to control or trust the God who is in control.

4. God's Sovereignty Brings Comfort
God's promises have never failed.
We don't need to know every detail of the future.
We simply need to trust the One who holds the future.
God's plan may include pain, but it is never without purpose.

5. God's Sovereignty Leads Us to Worship
God is worthy of worship regardless of our circumstances.
We worship Him in victory and in suffering.
Even when we don't understand what He is doing, we can trust His character.
Worship is the response of a heart that trusts God's sovereignty.

STOP SCROLLING... this is what church family looks like. 👇

Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting Epic Ministries, and they brought an unforgettable experience for every age. Through fun games, interactive object lessons, and plenty of laughter, families heard the Gospel presented in a way that was engaging, practical, and easy to understand.

Then we wrapped up the day with our Bible Buddy Pet Adoption! Kids were running around with excitement, families were connecting, conversations were happening, and memories were being made.

This is what church is all about. Not just attending a service, but doing life together. Building strong families. Investing in the next generation. Growing in faith. Finding community.

If you're looking for a place where your kids will be loved, your family will be welcomed, and Jesus will be lifted high, we'd love for you to come experience Calvary for yourself.

We are so excited to launch our brand-new summer reading adventure for kids at Calvary Kids beginning THIS Sunday, May 31st, right after morning worship!

Each child will get to choose their very own “Bible Buddy” stuffed animal, receive a pet carrier and pet care guide, and create fun custom bandanas and collars for their new friend!

But Bible Buddies is more than just fun — it’s a challenge for our kids to grow in God’s Word all summer long by “feeding” their Bible Buddy through daily Bible reading!

At Calvary Kids, our mission is to help lead the next generation to follow Jesus, love His Word, and build a faith that lasts a lifetime.

Today we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom. Their sacrifice reminds us that love is often shown through service, courage, and laying down your life for others.

As we gather with family today, may we never forget those who paid the ultimate price. We are grateful and we remember.
