God's law is not ultimately about checking off a list of rules. It teaches us what love for Him and our neighbor looks like. However, we don't love others to earn God's favor, and we will never love perfectly, but the Good News is that Christ has fulfilled the law for us with His perfect love. Because we've received His grace and forgiveness, we are free to look outward and seek the good of those around us. Who has God placed in your life to share His love with?

In Matthew 18, our Gospel lesson from Sunday, Jesus lays out a helpful way to handle conflict. This week, we invite you to pray for wisdom and grace in those hard situations. Ask God to give you humility to listen, courage to speak the truth in love, and patience when conversations become difficult. When these experiences arise, pray that He would help you seek reconciliation rather than victory and fill you with grace to extend to others stemming from the same forgiveness you have received in Christ.

Meet a Member Monday is back with Laura Blackmon! Laura and her family have been part of the Trinity family for five years. What she loves most about Trinity is that people genuinely care about each other and share the love of Christ.

Laura chairs the Board of Missions, enjoys serving lunch at Center of Hope, and leads the kitchen at VBS each summer. After working as a Labor and Delivery nurse for more than 17 years, Laura became a stay-at-home mom and now also subs at her children’s elementary school and works as a Pampered Chef consultant.

Laura spends a lot of time in the grocery store and loves a good coupon. She cooks from scratch often, leading her to walk the aisles of the grocery store to find the best deals and new things to try. Laura also enjoys watching a good TV show, reading a book, and singing!

Laura’s favorite Bible passage is Matthew 6:25-34, which reminds her that she doesn’t have to be in control because God’s got her, all the time. It's hard to choose, but her favorite Christian song right now is “The Blessing” by Laura Story.

We’re thankful for Laura and the many ways she serves and shares Christ’s love with our Trinity family!

Christ doesn't gather us together because we've figured out how to love perfectly. He gathers us to give us what we cannot create for ourselves: His forgiveness, His peace, and His love. And then He sends us back into the world with a word of peace to share what we have received. Because Christ has shown us mercy, we are free to show mercy to the people God has placed around us—even when it's difficult.

Thank you, Jesus, for promising us peace in the midst of a tumultuous world. Help us to be people who bring your peace to others each day.
