Pastor's Devo for Tuesday, June 2nd-
Romans 12:2 (KJV) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that you prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. There is nowhere in Scripture where it says to be renewed in your emotions! If you are living by your emotions, you are living what I would call a headless life. A headless life is without direction and purpose. It is more living for the moment, responding to situations as they happen. Ephesians 4:23 (KJV) And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; One of the meanings of the word spirit is the vital principle. What is the driving force, the reasoning, the motivation of your mind? Is your mind controlled by your emotions? Is your thinking the result of your feelings? Our feelings can be so strong that they cloud our reasoning. Causing us to make rash, unwise decisions. We tend to blame the devil for what may simply be our emotions ruling our life! Selah! (Meditate on that for a while.) What we need is the spirit of God to renovate our thinking processes so we can think spiritually.

Pastor's Devo for Monday, June 1st-
Romans 7:25 (NKJV) I thank God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin. Are you serving God from emotions? Most people live life from their emotions. Do they use their minds? Yes. However, their mind is serving their emotions. That is backwards. When we get saved, we tend to serve God the same way. We “feel” God’s presence, or not. We feel spiritual, or not. We feel victorious, or not. We feel weak, or strong. It’s not what we know, it’s what we feel. That is the wrong way to live the Christian life. We are to serve God from a renewed mind, not old emotions. Romans 8:7-8 (KJV) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So, then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. What is the carnal mind? It is living by your emotions!

Pastor's Devo for Sunday, May 31st-
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 - (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
(AMP)
When we read our text, we most likely think about our battle with the devil. Perhaps, we consider all the things that are arrayed against the true Christian. That is certainly true, but I want to consider a different approach to these verses. I want to direct your attention to the battle between our emotions and what we know. The most difficult battle you may ever be involved in may be between your mind and your emotions. Our emotions control us more than we might want to admit. Throughout this week when I refer to the mind I am speaking of :
#1- our natural mind, also known as the carnal mind; that is the way we think and why.
#2- our spiritual mind, the mind that has been renewed through the salvation of God.
For the authentic, Biblical Christian the goal is to have our natural mind transformed to become a spiritual mind. That is most likely a lifelong process for most of us. Identifying the conflict between our emotions and our spiritual mind is the first step to victory. I hope you will stay with us this week as we take a closer look at the battle between the mind and emotions.

Pastor's Devo for Saturday, May 30th-
Colossians 1:28-29 (NLT) So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me. Paul’s mission was very clear to him. He was to instruct as many people as he could about the message of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. He wanted to see those that received the message become mature believers who were in right relationship to God. Present- stand beside. Perfect- full grown. The Apostle Paul is saying that he wants to be able to stand beside these believers when they enter the glorious city of God and gladly present them to God as full-grown Christians. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 (ESV) I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. My prayer for you today is that you would be made complete in Christ. That you would live your life to the glory of God. When you get to heaven I want to stand beside you and hear Him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Godspeed.

Pastor's Devo for Friday, May 29th-
Colossians 1:26-27 (ESV) the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Ah! The glorious mystery, Christ in me! How do we understand that? How do we explain that? For 58 years I have been a born again, dedicated (mostly) Christian and the more I study God’s Word the more I marvel at this incredible salvation God has provided to all who will surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. How is it that Christ lives in every believer? The old time Christians use to say, “It’s better felt than telt.” I believe they were right. By faith I received Jesus Christ as my Savior, by faith I know that He lives in me and by faith I live in Him. Christ living in me is my only hope of heaven. This is spiritual truth that is not naturally understood. It must be received by faith. When one receives it by faith then it becomes glorious hope that will never disappoint! The riches of that decision will not be fully understood until we arrive in that place that Jesus has gone to prepare for us. Anyone looking forward to God’s glory?

Pastor's Devo for Thursday, May 28th-
Colossians 1:24-25 (MSG) I want you to know how glad I am that it's me sitting here in this jail and not you. There's a lot of suffering to be entered into in this world—the kind of suffering Christ takes on. I welcome the chance to take my share in the church's part of that suffering. When I became a servant in this church, I experienced this suffering as a sheer gift, God's way of helping me serve you, laying out the whole truth. Is Paul really rejoicing in his sufferings on behalf of Christ and the church? I’m quite certain that he is. How incredible. Most of us tend to complain, either in word or attitude, when things do not go the way we expected. The great Apostle is sitting in jail, and he is glad that it is him and not them! He states that suffering for Christ and His church is a gift! He has discovered riches in the cause of Christ, even in the suffering! I think I would want to exchange that gift for something else. How does someone get to the place where suffering for Christ and His church is a gift? It must be a result of the full comprehension of what Jesus has done for us and a total commitment to the cause of Christ. My prayer is that by the grace of God we would all get to that same place!
