To My Trinity Church Family,
I wanted to take a moment to share a personal update with each of you and ask for your continued prayers.
Hospice has informed us that our precious Meme (Shirley) likely has only a few days remaining here on this earth. She is now in a deep sleep and is no longer able to communicate, but we are so thankful that she is resting peacefully and comfortably.
Our family is staying close by her side, just as Mom and Dad have so faithfully done since April. These are tender and difficult moments, but we are trusting the Lord and resting in His promises.
I would ask that you please remember Meme and our entire family in your prayers. Our greatest prayer is that the Lord will continue to give her comfort and peace and, when her earthly journey is complete, grant her a gentle and peaceful homegoing.
I also want to express my appreciation to Rev. Norman Nowell, who has graciously agreed to fill the pulpit in my absence this Sunday. It brings me great comfort knowing that Trinity will be in good hands, and I encourage each of you to be faithful in your attendance and support of the services.
Church family, I cannot adequately express how much your love, prayers, and understanding mean to me and my family. It is a tremendous blessing to pastor a congregation that loves and cares for one another as you do.
As I sit here with Meme, my heart is reminded of the beautiful promise Jesus gave us in John 14:1–3:
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
What a comfort to know that for the child of God, this world is not our final home.
I love each and every one of you, and I thank God for the privilege of being your pastor.
With love and appreciation,
Pastor Jarrod
