https://www.youtube.com//streams Zion Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Virginia Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Pastor: Rev. Wesley Smith, II

Pastor Smith has served Zion since May 2018. Before coming to Zion, he served as pastor of two churches in New Jersey. He earned his M.Div. and Ph.D. at Princeton Seminary w

ith an emphasis in church history; and was ordained in 2001. Situated in the scenic rural countryside of Augusta County (three miles north of downtown Waynesboro), Zion is a small-town, family-friendly church that is lively and welcoming! We utilize liturgy in our Sunday worship services. It provides a biblical, orderly structure that consists of four parts: Gathering, Word, Meal (Holy Communion), and Sending. As Christians, we confess Jesus Christ; we proclaim the good news that we are saved by grace; and we act in love on behalf of our neighbor. As Lutherans, we teach and preach these convictions in light of the cross. Our Lutheran theology is meaningful, hopeful, and distinctive. Because Jesus came into this world to bring us grace — because God so loved the world — we of all people are optimistic and hopeful for what God will do for the sake of the world. https://vasynod.org/

Today is Pentecost.

O God, on this day you open the hearts of your faithful people by sending into us your Holy Spirit. Direct us by the light of that Spirit, that we may have a right judgment in all things and rejoice at all times in your peace, through Jesus Christ, your Son and our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. —Bread for the Day

FINAL SUNDAY OF EASTER -
THE ASCENSION OF OUR LORD
Our "Coffee Hour" was hosted today by Sherry, and the Fellowship Committee gave a wonderful celebration of Steve & Mary's time with us at Zion, as they will be moving out of the area soon to be closer to family. We thank Steve and Mary for all that they have contributed to Zion, and we wish them Farewell and Godspeed!
