Philadelphus Presbyterian Church will hold its annual homecoming on August 3, 2025. The Rev. Dr. Mike Ahlberg, one of the two who supply the pulpit at Philadelphus, will bring the morning message.
The morning service will begin at 11:00 AM. Following the service, there will be a covered dish meal at the pavilion at Scotland Hall.
All are invited to bring your favorites: meats, vegetables, casseroles, and desserts and join us. There will be a church singing after the meal.
Dr. Mike Ahlberg was born in Denver, Colorado, in 1956. Upon graduating from the University of Colorado in 1978 with a B.A. in History, he moved to Biloxi, MS, where he was involved with beach evangelism with Campus Crusade for Christ.
In 1979 he enrolled at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS, where he earned a Master of Divinity degree, and then later, a Dr. of Ministry degree. Also, he was ordained into the Presbyterian Church in America in 1982.
For the last 40+ years, Mike has served in various PCA churches from Carrollton to Clarksdale, to Union, to Cheraw, SC, and back to Magee, MS. Mike is an honorably retired minister in Grace Presbytery, and still preaches in various places, most regularly in the Waynesboro vicinity.
Mike is married to his sweetheart, Robin, a Colorado girl he has known since the time they attended the same church together back in the 70's. They have four children, Clint, Cori, Daniel and Michael, who are spread out from Colorado to Mississippi, to South Carolina.
Today, Robin and Mike live near Wesson, MS. In his spare time, Mike is currently working on a new translation of the New Testament, and has begun writing a book about Revelation. He hopes, the Lord willing, that he will be able to preach, teach, write and translate for a long time.
