I would like to take a moment to update you on my current endeavors. Having shifted away from painting furniture, I am now dedicating my time to establishing Whippet Up Nutrition, a store located in Clara,MS. As this new business requires my full-time commitment, I can no longer allocate time to painting furniture. If my situation changes, allowing for more flexibility, I will share this news. I extend my sincere appreciation to each client for the opportunity to work together and for the experience of transforming each piece of furniture.

This beautiful vintage Jenny Lind high chair of a clients has been carefully rejuvenated, extending its lifespan for multiple generations. The chair underwent a comprehensive overhaul, including stripping, re-staining, and attaching new hardware for the tray, in addition to reinforcing the underside with extra glue and screws to stabilize its structure. She is stunning! 😍

The recent pleasant weather allowed me to complete the stripping of the high chair down to bare wood and apply a fresh stain. The outcome is a rich, classic Americana look. I am now waiting for the new hardware to arrive so that I can begin reassembling the chair.

Do you notice a difference between the spindles with new stain and those without? They seem much richer and more stunning. The high chair has been broken down to ensure every component gets new stain and to make it more stable.

This gorgeous vintage Jenny Lind high chair will be getting some much-needed love this week. It will be stripped down for a new stain, and new hardware will be added so the tray works correctly and to make some other adjustments to prevent shakiness.

The second time around has indeed proven to be the charm. My initial recreation of this piece in a beautiful black and gold tone did not find a home, but I revised the design and recreated it again. Fortunately, a client fell in love with it while collecting another piece, and it has now found its perfect home. Everything for a reason 💗.

You might be thinking, what's the point of repainting and refinishing? The truth is, it's not necessary. The furniture is in fantastic condition, apart from the drawers. Regrettably, three of the drawer tracks have broken. I believe in doing things properly, so all five drawers will get new tracks and she will be good as new for my client.

My final pieces for 2024 turned out AMAZING!! I liked how they looked before, but now they are perfect. I applied new stain on top, touched up some areas with paint due to normal wear and tear, and resealed everything. They are as good as new and perfect for their new home. 💗🫶🏻

It is intriguing to note that I have had the pleasure of working with the same client for my final pieces of the year for the past two years. I highly value repeat business. Do these pieces appear familiar? They should, as I have recreated these three pieces previously. However, my clients have recently purchased a new home ( so excited for them) and updated their furniture, rendering the original stain no longer suitable for their bedroom. So these will be getting a little makeover to match. 💗
