A new thing we're doing for spring 2025 is that the Lutheran Campus Pastor--Jim Holthus--is going to do a new video every week on the general topic of faith/spirituality. This video is about 5 minutes long and I welcome your comments.

Our final “Finals Care Packages” event in the student union Monday 12/9/2024 with some from our group handing out the FREE sacks full of treasures from Dollar General in Wayne. We had 33 bags stuffed and ready to give to students over the lunch hour; however, at the announcement of the word FREE it was like a feeding frenzy at our table!’!!! We gave away all 33 care packages to students walking by in TEN MINUTES!!
This was our last activity/event/meeting of the fall semester. We will select a day/place/time to meet over food perhaps the week AFTER Christmas somewhere near Omaha for students who can join us to plan and reorganize.
SPRING PLANS: meet Tuesday evenings in the Front Porch by Our Savior Lutheran from 5:30-7:00 starting Tuesday January 14.

SERVICE PROJECTS: FREE care packages for finals survival kits, “Who Loved You First?” letter-writing to family for Valentine’s Day
Lots of discussions on faith, the Bible, different religions, different Christian denominations, suggestions on how we could become better individuals. COME AND CHECK US OUT!

Sunday morning, November 17, PJ and LuMin students gave the "sermon" at Our Savior Lutheran in Wayne, telling the story about Lutheran Campus Ministry and thanking the congregation for all the ways they have helped our group!

Pastor Jim is hard at work cooking tomato soup in the crockpot and is about ready to make his yummy grilled cheese samwiches for our LuMin meeting tonight 5:30 - 7:00 at the Front Porch building by Our Savior Lutheran Church. Tonight you get an idea of what your "spiritual gifts from the Holy Spirit" might be and we'll talk about the difference between your human talents and the spiritual gifts God has given you and how knowing this might help you find a career that best fits you! Come on down!

Here is the national ELCA Lutheran Campus Ministry report that shares stories about students, campuses, events, ministries, etc. It is well worth reading. I'm so grateful to my colleagues and to this organization which I've been blessed to be a part of for about 27+ years as a campus pastor at 5 different campuses and to be still able to serve students here at Wayne State College. If YOU are from Wayne or nearby and know of a young adult or college student attending NECC in Norfolk or attending Wayne State, please give them my contact info and show them this website so they can check us out and see if our ministry is something that might be a good fit for them at this point in their life!
