The celebration of Juneteenth is an annual reminder that freedom may be delayed but can ultimately never be denied. This day invites us to honor the resilience of those who held fast to hope, even as they endured oppression. Today and every day, may we commit to advocating for justice and equality for all people.

Scripture declares, “For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1, NRSVue). May we fully embrace the freedom Christ gives and be inspired to honor our past with gratitude and renewed purpose.
