UNDERSTANDING PROPHECIES OF THE APOCALYPSE
“Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven” Acts 1:11.
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus, shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. 1Thessalonians 4:16-18.
Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed – in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:51,52
The term rapture comes from the Latin rapio or rapturo, which means “a snatching away.” The rapture , then, is that time when the Lord comes in the clouds of glory (Acts 1:11) to take out of this world all those who have died I Christ as well as al believers who are alive at His coming.
In God’s calendar rapture is the literal, visible, and bodily return of Christ in the heavens. He shall return as He left (Acts 1:9 -11). This the great event that will take place as the people of God (dead and alive) disappear from the face of the earth, whereupon they immediately meet Christ and are ushered into His presence in the twinkling of an eye.
The question now is how ready are you? If you were to die now, will you be raptured? If alive then will you be raptured or left behind? I pray we all will be with Christ for eternity. Amen.
