“You’re sinning.”
“You’re going to hell.”
“Repent before it’s too late.”

If that’s the only message people ever hear from the church, is it any wonder some of them are afraid to walk through the doors?

Let’s be clear: the Gospel doesn’t pretend sin doesn’t exist. Jesus called people to repentance. Scripture teaches us right from wrong, and truth still matters.

But condemnation and conviction are not the same thing.

Our job is not to stand at the door deciding who is worthy enough to come inside. Our job is to point people to Jesus.

Jesus sat with sinners.
Jesus touched the people others avoided.
Jesus spoke to the people religious society had already written off.
And He didn’t wait for them to get everything right before He showed them love.

Romans 2:4 reminds us that God’s kindness leads us to repentance.

People don’t need us assigning them a seat in hell. They need us showing them the way to Christ.

So if you’re struggling, questioning, carrying things you’re ashamed of, or you’ve been made to feel like you’re “too far gone” for church—

Come anyway.

You don’t have to clean yourself up before you walk through our doors. You don’t have to have the right clothes, the right past, or all the right answers.

Come hear the Word.
Come meet Jesus.
Come let Him do the changing.

At Vine & Branch Ministries, we’ll preach truth—but we also believe truth should be spoken in love.

There are enough people pointing fingers.

We’d rather point you to Jesus. 🤍

🌧️ All This Rain Has Me Thinking…

We’ve certainly seen our share of rain lately. The ground is soaked, the ditches are full, and I think most of us are about ready to see a little sunshine. ☀️

But there’s something about rain in Isaiah that’s worth remembering.

Isaiah 55:10–11 compares the rain that comes down from heaven and waters the earth to the Word of God.

Rain doesn’t fall on the ground and accomplish nothing.

It soaks into places we can’t see.
It nourishes roots beneath the surface.
It prepares the ground.
And eventually, something grows.

God says His Word works the same way.

Sometimes we hear a sermon, read a verse, or come across a piece of Scripture and don’t feel some immediate, life-changing moment. We may even wonder if anything is happening at all.

But God’s Word doesn’t return empty.

It can be working beneath the surface long before we ever see the evidence of it.

So if you’ve been reading, praying, coming to church, listening and wondering whether any of it is making a difference—keep going.

The ground may look unchanged today.

But that doesn’t mean the rain isn’t doing its work. 🌱

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void…” — Isaiah 55:11

And after the amount of rain we’ve had lately, we ought to be growing SOMETHING. 🌧️

Sunday Morning Recap ✝️

This morning’s message came from Mark 16:1–8, but two little words in verse 7 carried such a powerful reminder:

“AND PETER.”

Peter had promised Jesus he would never deny Him. Yet in Luke 22:34, Jesus told Peter that before the rooster crowed, he would deny Him three times.

And he did.

Then comes Luke 22:61. After that third denial, “the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter.” Peter knew exactly what he had done. He had failed the One he loved, and he went away and wept bitterly.

Fast forward to the empty tomb.

Jesus has risen, and the angel gives the women a message:

“Go your way, tell his disciples AND PETER…” — Mark 16:7

Peter could have easily assumed he wasn’t included anymore. I messed up too badly. I denied Him. I don’t deserve to be one of them.

But Jesus made sure there could be no misunderstanding.

AND PETER.

This morning, Pastor Clint challenged us to take a pen, go beside those two words in Mark 16:7, and write a little note:

“AND YOU.”

Because maybe you’ve failed. Maybe you’ve made choices you’re ashamed of. Maybe you’ve walked away, fallen short, or convinced yourself that you’ve messed up too many times for God to still have a place for you.

And you.

Peter’s failure wasn’t the end of Peter’s story, and yours doesn’t have to be the end of yours either.

Jesus knew Peter would fail before Peter ever did—and after the resurrection, He still called his name.

There is grace for the one who failed.
There is restoration for the one who fell.
There is still purpose after the mistake.

When you read “AND PETER,” remember why his name was there.

Then write beside it:

“AND YOU.” ❤️

He hasn’t forgotten your name.

🌧️ Well… if all this rain could wash away sin, South Georgia ought to be about the holiest place on earth by now. 😂

But unfortunately, it doesn’t quite work that way.

Rain can wash the pollen off your car, the dirt off the sidewalk, and apparently turn every yard in town into a swamp… but there’s only One who can wash away sin.

🎶 What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

So while we’re all wondering if we should start gathering animals two-by-two, remember this:

The rain may wash the outside, but Jesus is the One who makes us clean within. ❤️

There’s just something about the name of Jesus. ✝️

His name is wonderful when life is good.
His name is powerful when the battle is hard.
His name brings peace when our hearts are troubled.
His name brings hope when we can’t see what comes next.

Philippians 2:9–10 reminds us that God gave Him “a name which is above every name.”

Whatever this week has brought you, and whatever you’re carrying into the weekend, don’t forget the name you can always call on.

Jesus.

The name above every name.
The name that saves.
The name that still changes lives.
