St. Mark the Evangelist Anglican Church

St. Mark the Evangelist Anglican Church Historic Christianity in Historic Waxahachie! A Place to Belong, a Faith to Believe, and a Way to follow. With the chronic illness and retirement of St. St.

We meet at 9am for Catechesis and 10:30am for Holy Eucharist on the campus of Texas Baptist Hope for Children in the King Center. Saint Mark the Evangelist Anglican Church is rooted in an earlier parish of The Orthodox Anglican Church (OAC), Saint Athanasius Anglican Church, which started in Waxahachie in 2004. Athanasius’ rector in early 2020, leaders within the small but faithful parish sought a

place to continue worshipping. Athanasius had maintained a relationship with the Reformed Episcopal Church over the years, so the leaders reached out to the REC leadership in Dallas for assistance. They found that the REC100 was already in place to plant or revitalize parishes across the nation. Together with the REC leadership, they were able to promptly form a new parish, Saint Mark the Evangelist Anglican Church. The first official meeting of St. Mark’s was for Evening Prayer at FirstLook Pregnancy Center in Waxahachie on June 24, 2020. The parish has grown gradually, first meeting for Evening Prayer on Wednesday evenings, then renting space for Sunday Eucharist in downtown Waxahachie, before moving to our current gathering location, Christ the King Lutheran Church, in October 2021. The people of St. Mark’s continue to grow in the Faith and Love of our LORD JESUS Christ, with goals for sharing the gospel ever more effectively in Ellis County, Texas.

The North Texas Deanery of the Reformed Episcopal Church met in retreat this week at the blessed and beautiful retreat center of Camp Crucis in Granbury, Texas. St. Marks is part and parcel of that deanery. Our focus? Sacramental worship, Christian fellowship, and Unity in Christ, all upheld by the theology of the Gospel of JESUS Christ crucified, resurrected, and ascended into glory to the right hand of GOD the Father.
