So many of today’s churches are either dying or focused on being “seeker friendly” where holiness and the study of the Word are considered “religious” and secondary to trying to have the best life now. The Pastor and worship leader’s jean are tighter than their theology. True biblical spirituality puts the Word of God first and foremost and is focused on putting the Word into practice. Theology matters! Scripture needs to be applied to our daily lives. Proper exegesis and study are vital to healthy relationship with the one true God. Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection should be our focus, not what “new” revelation or “new” teaching that is blowing up the internet. The Holy Spirit will never go against the Word of God.
