DON'T FORGET (pt. 2): On September 13th, we will NOT gather at 9am for our regularly schedule worship service. Instead, we will meet at 10:30am at Scott's Shelter at the Wauzeka boat landing for our annual outdoor service instead with a cookout to follow. Please bring a side dish or dessert to pass if you're able!

From Pastor Kevin:

As get ready to resume many of our usual ministry opportunities with the end of summer coming up, it's time to roll out a new model for how to get involved. You may have heard me talk about "Gift Groups" during the summer; if you haven't, they are our new model for helping you get plugged into the parts of our ministry together that you feel called to be a part of based on your own gifts, talents, and passions. From maintenance and groundskeeping to worship and music to Sunday School to Communication and Outreach, there's a whole slate of available opportunities.

Since it's a new system and folks may have questions or want a chance to talk with me or a council member before signing up, we're going to have a special meeting time THIS TUESDAY, September 1st, from 6:30-7:00pm for anyone interested in signing up for a gift group or who would like to learn more. I'll give a little talk about how the whole Gift Group model works, you're free to ask questions, and if you'd like to sign up before you leave, go for it! If you can't be there on Tuesday, you're still very welcome to find me after worship for questions or more information, and the sign-up sheets will still be in the rear of the sanctuary.

Food Drive THIS WEEKEND! Please drop off non-perishable food items at the church building on Saturday, 8/22, between 9am and 11am OR Sunday morning when we gather for worship at 9am. We are especially looking for kid-and-teen friendly snack and meals (Easy Mac, etc.) to send to the school for “weekend bags” for students who don’t have easy access to meals when they aren’t at school.
