Today was truly a special day at NWBC, marked by two heartfelt recognitions. We began by dedicating ourselves as a family of God to support Alexis and her family in their commitment to raising Emery in a loving Christian home. Our Women’s Ministry Director, Connie, presented Alexis with a beautiful basket filled with thoughtful baby goodies.

Later, Pastor Paul and Noah took a moment to honor Bennie, expressing our deep appreciation for his decade-long dedication to portraying Christ in our outdoor Good Friday drama. It’s days like these that remind us of the strength of our community and the blessings we share.

Northwest invites you to a night at the movies. This evening, we will be showing Home Run (2013) in the chapel. Home Run is a sports drama about Corey, a baseball superstar who is struggling with alcoholism. After being suspended for a drinking-related incident, Corey’s team demands that he attend recovery meetings in order to be reinstated with the team. While attending the meetings, Corey begins to face his drinking as well as the pain of his past. A potluck-style dinner will be served at 5:30 PM. The movie will start at 6:00 PM, with a discussion of the film to follow.

On Thursday, April 2, at 6:00 PM, everyone is invited to join Northwest, Word of Hope, and Desire of All Nations churches in the chapel for our first United Maundy Thursday service. Maundy Thursday is a day in which we remember and reflect on Jesus’ final meal with His disciples before the crucifixion on Good Friday. At the Last Supper, Jesus said to the disciples: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another” John 13:34 ESV. Bring your friends and family and celebrate Holy Week at Northwest, as we reflect on the path from Christ’s crucifixion to His resurrection. Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday on March 29. On Thursday, April 2, come and reflect on Jesus’ final meal with His disciples at our first United Maundy Thursday Service. During the Good Friday Outdoor Drama, see the reenactment of the crucifixion and the Roman soldiers begin their guard of the tomb through the weekend. On Saturday, April 4, we have an Eggstravaganza event for kids age 4 through 5th grade. On Resurrection Sunday, discover the empty tomb at the outdoor drama, followed by a pancake breakfast, and gather for a special Resurrection Celebration Service in the sanctuary.
