The Pathfinders had the time of their lives on our annual camping trip at Eau Pleine park! We went a month earlier than usual, which meant it was warmer for swimming!

Each time we go their interests are different - this year they spent a lot of time in the water. They swam, walked the beach, fished, built sand castles & rivers, and found a lot of live animals, tracks & animal skeletons. At night they had fun catching catfish and crawdads!

But most importantly we drew near to God through worship, camp fire songs, prayer, and fellowship!

It was a challenge working through the much needed rain when it was time to go home, but many hands made light work. (Only Matt Scheffler strategically and perfectly stakes down and lines up tarps to wash and dry! See picture. 🤣)

Be sure to watch the video of our weekend!

IMPORTANT:

Due to the recent hail damage, our insurance is covering most of the cost for a new roof. The Church Board approved the roof replacement and to cover the difference that insurance doesn’t cover. The roofing company (A-Rite) will begin the roof replacement on Wednesday, August 5th. They anticipate and hope to be done by Friday, August 7th. (If not, they will finish on Monday, August 10th)

There will be 4 dumpsters placed in the church yard Tuesday, August 4th. For safety reasons, they are asking that everyone avoid going onto the church property/entering the church building while they are working. Meaning, while they are here and working, they ask that we avoid being here. If they are not working, we can be on the property.

If you have questions, please contact Mark Krueger.

A few years ago the Pathfinders started an annual tradition - to take a nature hike for our last meeting before summer, followed by ice cream treats!

On our first hike we noticed there was a lot of litter. We coincidentally had a very small bag with us, but it didn’t hold all of the garbage we found. Ever since then, we make sure to bring a large garbage bag with us to pick up as much as we can! You wouldn’t believe the treasures we find!

We are blessed to have such a great group of Pathfinders!

The Pathfinders are still working on their Maple Sugar honor! They took a tour of a local Maple Syrup farmer, Stahel’s Creekside Maples, who collects sap from 1,400 trees. They taught the group about the process of turning sap into syrup.

A huge thank you to Matt Scheffler for turning the sap we tapped and collected into jugs of maple syrup to take home!
