Today in church we celebrated 16 of our members who are age 80 or older. Pictured are a part of that group. We so appreciate their contributions to our mission and ministry.
We also said goodbye to Pastor Nestor Espinoza, who for 13 years has led our sister congregation, Sagrado Corazon, which also worships in our building. He has been a blessing to all of us, and will be missed.

This storm has has devastated communities across the southeastern United States. Our prayers remain with all who are affected, those experiencing grief and suffering, and workers providing emergency response.

Since many hurricanes also require a long-term response, Lutheran Disaster Response provides support on the long road to recovery with disaster case management, construction management, unmet needs, and emotional and spiritual care.

Great worship yesterday with Bishop Yehiel Curry, including installation Trinity United's church council, including David Westerdahl, Desiree Cole, Liga Minejevs, Joseph Cole, Sharron Morrison, Nancy Bjerstedt, Robert Johnson, and Danny Newborn. MIssing was Bernard Ben-B Kodjo Ben-Carew.

Something good coming out of the pandemic...

There's been a lot of bad news about churches in recent years. Online church has been one bright spot.

Had our church outdoor worship and picnic today. We all are vaccinated and met outdoors. First social event since March 2020.

Trinity United Lutheran Church is proud to support the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) 31st Anniversary. On July 26th we celebrate this important civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public. The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.

If you care about the legacy of Dr. MLK, take 20 minutes to hear one of his sermons, “Guidelines for a Constructive Church.” About 10 years ago, instead of just talking about Dr. King, I chose to read one of his sermons in church, so that they are not lost to time. I think you’ll find it just as relevant.
