In today's Church School lesson, "Holy, Holy, Holy, I was reminded and am sharing a quote and my belief on how sinners should be treated. Just as God worked with Isaiah as he confessed what he was and God dealt with him. This is how we are to deal with His people in general. "We should note that God did not chastise Isaiah. Rather, God, in response to Isaiah’s humility, immediately reacted to Isaiah’s need. God cleansed, forgave, and equipped Isaiah. We should be reminded how deeply God loves us and wants to be reconciled to us, His most beloved creation."
Many times I have seen church leaders either chastise, belittle, make fun of, or either dehumanize people with their words about people and whatever sin they are struggling with. Who are you to judge or put your mouth on people? If this is you STOP~ sit down, talk to God, offer your assistance, and pray for that person, that God will remove the guilt and the sin. Do you know that God sees and hears what you are doing? Do you know how many people you have just stopped from attending church? Do you know how many people you have sent back to doing the sins as they were probably in transition for change? Do you know how many people you may have been hindered to answer God's call because of your mouth?
Many of our leaders need to ask God to place a stopwatch before their mouths or pray for God to allow the seraphim to place hot coal upon their lips because what's coming from their mouths is unclean and more from them and not from God.
Instead of having a filthy mouth, find ways to assess and assist people with their needs of why they are in the sin that they are dealing with. If it's a treatment program, counseling, a referral, or whatever make it available to people. You may even be able to create programs in your facility to assist them with becoming cleansed. Also assist them by equipping them with the knowledge that may connect them with professionals and or others to help them be a better person, while also equipping them with the Word of God. All I can say is most of our churches are not filled because we need to do better...Be careful little mouths of what you say.
Remember the words of Isaiah, "Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. In his filthiness, He was still able to see God but look what happened to him afterward. That's right..".Here I am Lord, send me." Just as once upon a time it may have even been you.
