On this day in history—July 17, 1862—President Abraham Lincoln signed the act that authorized the creation of America's first National Cemeteries.

Before this act, there was no centralized system to ensure the brave men and women who served our country were laid to rest with uniform honor. It changed the landscape of American remembrance forever.

The Maumee Valley Memorials location parking lot is getting a fresh seal coat and new striping to make your visit safer, cleaner, and more welcoming. Work begins on Friday, July 10th and is scheduled for completion by Monday, July 13th.

We believe that taking care of the little things reflects how we care for the important things—serving families with quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.

If you're planning to visit us while the work is underway, please give our staff a call before you arrive. We'll be happy to direct you to the best place to park and the appropriate entrance to our building.
