Dear Friends in Christ,
As we enter the month of June, the Church invites us to honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Sacred Heart reminds us of the immense love that Christ has for each one of us—a love that is merciful, faithful, and sacrificial. Throughout the Gospels, we encounter the Heart of Jesus, moved with compassion for the sick, the suffering, the forgotten, and the sinner.
Devotion to the Sacred Heart has deep roots in the Church's history but was greatly promoted through the visions of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in the seventeenth century. Jesus revealed His Sacred Heart as a symbol of His burning love for humanity and called His followers to respond with prayer, devotion, and acts of reparation. Today, this devotion remains a powerful reminder that Christ's Heart is always open to us, inviting us to trust in His mercy and draw closer to Him.
I encourage every family in our parish to deepen your devotion to the Sacred Heart this month. Consider displaying an image of the Sacred Heart in your home, praying the Litany of the Sacred Heart, attending Mass faithfully, and spending time before the Blessed Sacrament. In a world often marked by division and anxiety, the Heart of Jesus offers us peace, hope, and strength.
A reminder that our Pancake Breakfast benefiting Carolyn's Place will take place on Sunday, June 14, following the 9:30 a.m. Mass in the Fr. Filip Hall. This is a wonderful opportunity to gather as a parish family, build community, and support a cause that serves mothers and families in need. I hope many of you will join us.
Congratulations to the graduating Class of 2026 from Holy Disciples Catholic School. On June 9, our eighth-grade students will celebrate an important milestone as they complete their elementary education and prepare for high school. We are proud of their accomplishments and grateful to their parents, teachers, and families who have helped form them in faith, knowledge, and virtue. Please keep our all our graduates in your prayers as they begin an exciting new chapter in their lives.
It is also encouraging to see new families registering in our parish and many new faces joining us at Mass. Our doors remain open to all who seek Christ and a parish home. Together, let us continue building a vibrant parish community by forming disciples, deepening our prayer life, and boldly proclaiming Jesus Christ. May each of us do our part to welcome others and share the joy of the Gospel.
May the Sacred Heart of Jesus bless you and your families throughout this month and always.
Peace and joy,
Fr. Glen
