A Time to Build

Nearly 100 years ago, faithful Lutherans invested in a seminary campus designed to serve generations of future pastors. Today, we have the opportunity to build on that legacy.

In an article from the 2026 edition of "Preach the Gospel" magazine, President Earle Treptow shares why new classrooms, a student lounge, gathering spaces, and on-site faculty offices are about much more than buildings. They’re about creating an environment that strengthens learning, relationships, mentoring, and preparation for gospel ministry.

As many of you are aware, yesterday a tornado struck the Wisconsin communities of Appleton and Menasha, leaving a path of destruction. One of our sister congregations, Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church in Menasha and their attached Pre-School, Shepherd of the Valley, took extensive damage. One of our former members, Jacob Steinmetz, and his wife, Ashley, serve as teacher and principal. We are confident that God will watch over our brothers and sisters at Bethel and all those affected by this damaging storm. Around noon on Monday, July 27, a tornado ripped through northeastern Wisconsin, causing severe damage to Bethel, Menasha, a bilingual WELS church with about 500 members. The tornado also damaged the Menasha location of Shepherd of the Valley Luthera
