Today is START SEEING MONARCHS DAY!

Have you raised monarchs from eggs? If you have milkweed, check underneath the leaves for a small white egg. In a few days, the caterpillar eats its way out of the egg and from then on it eats and eats and eats. Only milkweed! When finished, it spins some silk and hangs in a J. It won’t be a caterpillar much longer, but you will see a chrysalis! First a lighter green, then you’ll see specks of gold, then it becomes darker where you can see the monarch inside. The day arrives and the monarch emerges, hangs a while pumping its wings and letting them dry. Then off they fly!

National Space Day dedicates the first Friday in May to the extraordinary achievements, benefits, and opportunities in the exploration and use of space. The goal of the observance is to promote math, science, technology, and engineering education in young people, The hope is to inspire them to pursue a career in science, especially a career in space-related jobs.

Careers in space involve a wide range of specialties. Going to space requires many working parts, and that's not just the parts that go into space. All kinds of engineers build the equipment, computers and make the computations.
