We all must work to create safer spaces in schools and communities for trans and nonbinary youth. 🏳️‍⚧️

Understanding gender-affirming care is an essential step, and the willingness to learn will help counter disinformation that endangers LGBTQ+ youth.

🙏🏾 Holy One:

We pray today for our faith communities.

You have placed us into real places with real needs.

Help us to be mindful of the needs around us and to respond to those needs with love, justice, compassion - and real actions.

May we partner with those working for the common good.

Open our eyes and our hands to make an impact with our neighbors.

Amen.

There is room for you in God's love. Not a version of you that has been changed, hidden, or made more acceptable to others—the real you.

God's love reaches across every identity, every background, every story, and every journey. No one is outside the reach of that love.

May we carry that same spirit into the world: making room, welcoming people as they are, and choosing love over judgment.

You belong. You are loved. You are worthy of being exactly who you are.

Today, Building a Welcoming Watertown recognizes Women’s Equality Day: a time to honor the women who have helped shape our communities and to recognize the importance of women’s voices in civic life.

For generations, women have contributed to their communities as neighbors, educators, caregivers, business owners, volunteers, leaders, and advocates. Their participation has helped make our communities stronger and more welcoming.

This U.S. postage stamp commemorated the 50th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the constitutional right to vote. As we look ahead to the November election, we encourage everyone who is eligible to vote to make a plan to participate, learn about the voting process, and make their voice heard.
