PARENTS
Students eagerly anticipate prom, protocol, and other formal events. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get dressed up, spend a night out with friends and family, and practice etiquette. The purpose is not to promote dating or exclusive relationships. Rather, the purpose is to be an exciting teaching opportunity, with circumstances that provide practice for our young adults in social skills and behaviors that we’ve aimed to train them in. Prom is a real and practical training ground for young adults to practice acting in a way that honors God, their peers, and those of the opposite s*x. Unlike other proms, this event for homeschooled students anticipates parents and other adults playing an active role by providing mentoring, chaperoning, and guidance.
We will need adult chaperones for the evening as well as other volunteers, both students and parents, to help staff the event. If you are interested in serving in this area please contact the prom committee at [email protected].
