K of C Council 222 and Assembly 739

K of C Council 222 and Assembly 739 The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic Fraternal organization founded by Father Michael J. McGivney in This is called an Assembly.

The K of C was founded on the core principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. There is a separate fraternity dedicated to Patriotism alone. The Assembly is the visible arm of the K of C you see in Church wearing regalia and performing details such as parades, funerals and church services. Both the Council and Assembly work in coordination with each other to give back to the community

by volunteering to do community service in may ways. The K of C donates coats to the Coats for Kids program, works with Trevor's Gift, The St. Mary festival and other community projects. The motto of "In Service to One; In Service to All" resonates in all Knights.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
PLEASE SHARE WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS:

A Brother Knight is in danger of death from Alpha One Antitryphsen Deficiency and as a result of life-long treatment for this disease, he is in need of a liver and lung transplant which we hope will be undertaken at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.

All his life, our Brother Knight has suffered from a complex blood disorder that interferes with the movement of oxygen in his lungs to his blood. This incurable condition necessitates a weekly infusion of drugs that have brought about the destruction of his lungs and liver.

Despite decades of suffering and 100% disability, he has never rested, never complained, and served the Church and Community as a worthy Sir Knight.

He now needs two lungs and a liver to live. The doctors hope to schedule this surgery around August 2026.

The astronomical cost of this surgery is covered by Medicare, which is a huge blessing. But his living expenses in Durham and the travel of his children are not. To qualify, Our Brother Knight needs to raise at least $50,000 to demonstrate he has the means to live adjacent to Duke for a year, maybe more.

Our Council & Assembly to date has raised over $3000 and has another $1250 yet to be reported. But we are a long way from this goal, which is impossible for us to achieve without support from his brother Knights, family, friends, and the community.

We hope and pray all of you will participate by playing the added special to our BINGO Night.

It will be exactly like the purple special game #6 ODD/EVEN COVERALL played before game #6 and after intermission. Winner gets 50% of the total amount collected for this game and our brother knight will get 100% of the remaining 50%. This will be a PAPER ONLY SPECIAL and the LIVE BINGO iPads are not eligible to play this game.

We will play this added special for the last remaining BINGO nights of the season.

For those of you who would like to DONATE directly to our Brother Knight, here is a link where you can do that.
