City Mission is a new Christian ministry focused on human services & community outreach in Waterbury, CT. We exist to provide food assistance, care for the homeless, support for families, enriching programs for parents and youth, and to partner with local emergency services. Our Vision: We, being the living embodiment of the Gospel, will bring life, light, and hope to all in our community. O

Some of the greatest needs in our community are found just beyond the front door.

Through our Homebound Initiative, we have the privilege of delivering food directly to neighbors who aren't easily able to leave their homes for everyday necessities. But each visit is about so much more than groceries. It's about sharing a conversation, offering encouragement, and reminding someone they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.

Every time we deliver, we think we're bringing the blessing, but the truth is, WE are the ones who leave encouraged.

A huge thank you to Ion Bank for investing in our community through a generous grant to City Mission's Storehouse program!

Because of partners like Ion Bank, our 100% mobile food pantry can continue moving throughout our city, bringing food directly to individuals and families who need it most.
We are especially grateful to bank with Ion and to partner with an organization that shares a heart for strengthening our community. Together, we are able to serve others, change lives, and transform our city.

Some of the greatest impact happens quietly.

Through the generosity of incredible foundations, we have been able to reach further into our community, fight food insecurity, and invest in the next generation through education.

The Good Sparrow Foundation has truly been instrumental. Rooted in the belief that "it is imperative to serve and to give in honor of our own blessings," they have provided far more than financial support. Their wisdom, encouragement, and guidance have helped strengthen City Mission and expand our ability to serve others.

To this remarkable foundation, thank you for believing in our mission, investing in our community, and helping make lasting change possible. Your generosity is reflected in every family fed, every student encouraged, and every life touched.

Every Tuesday and Friday, our team is out bringing food into our community. That's just 100 days out of the year!

Yet in that short time, we've been able to rescue and distribute over 100k lbs of fresh food, providing nutritious meals to hundreds of families each week.

It’s amazing to think about the impact that can happen in just 100 days.

Thank you to every volunteer, donor, grocery partner, and supporter who makes those 100 days count. 💚
