WARNING: foul language 👇. There are dangerous and unstable men all over the streets of the greater Portland area. This self confessed felon walked across the street calling Jesus a pe*****le. Not the average start to a Gospel conversation. Thankfully our interaction stopped short of violence. He came back around behind us later and was trying to get the nerve up to throw a punch. The non-Christian manager and employees came out of the store and told him to stop bothering us and ran him off. The manager later came out and apologized for the man's violent behavior toward us and thanked us for being there (he took a Gospel tract). They've clearly had their fill of the growing criminal element in our community.

In response to the man calling the Lord Jesus a pe*****le I said, "That's a lie. Actually, God hates pe*****les and He'll send them to Hell, because God is Holy, but God is also gracious and He's made a way of forgiveness for sinners like yourself." Many are not familiar with the holy hatred of God. It is a reference to Psalm 11:5, "The Lord tests the righteous, but the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates." Praise God, 1 Timothy 1:15 is also true, "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners!"

There’s a Gospel war on for the souls of countless millions and the survival of Western civilization and most pastors and churches can’t be bothered to put down their hobbies, their pet doctrines, or their Starbucks coffee and donut long enough to even show up.

Tomorrow is Saturday. Men, women, boys, and girls will all be out in public areas (city centers , parks, river fronts, abortion clinics, etc.) waiting to hear the Word of God that will save them from doctrines of demons that bring death, destruction, and misery upon them in life…and the Gospel of Jesus Christ that will save their souls from the wrath of God in eternity.

“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:

‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!’

16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, ‘Lord, who has believed our report?’ 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” –Romans 10:14-17

Hey pastors and churches...there's a war on! Satan's armies are at war against God, His Word, His Gospel, His Church, and Western civilization too. They're fighting to win every day everywhere all over the earth. They're marching to war to take individual souls, families, cities, and entire nations. They aren't playing or pretending, they're fighting to win. Most pastors, churches, and Christians aren't fighting at all. They're avowed anti-Great Commission spiritual pacifists. They're not going to soil themselves or Christ's good name by getting in a Gospel fight. They refuse to fight the "good fight" that Christ commands them to fight. They're just going to apathetically complain about the world while they watch it burn...or close their eyes and stop their ears so can't see the flames and hear the cries of the perishing...while they drink their latte, eat another donut, think spiritual happy thoughts, and look forward to their next worship service or Christian conference. God rebuke such hateful apathy! If you're not in the fight (and most aren't) repent and get in the fight for the glory of God in the redemption of sinners as if eternal souls and Western civilization depend upon it...because they do!

The U.S. Constitution and 1st Amendment are providential blessings from God upon America...but tragically most of America's churches, pastors, and Christians aren't using the blessing we casually call "Freedom of Speech" for the highest form of speech...the public proclamation of the Word of God. The United Kingdom doesn't have the providential blessing of the Constitution or the 1st Amendment. Therefore, the police are constantly called upon to censor and/or criminalize speech based upon whether or not the content is found offensive to any given individual. Preachers are often arrested in the UK based upon the feelings of an individual or individuals getting hurt. Hurting feelings is a very real (wildly ridiculous and tyrannical) crime in the UK that can result in very real jail terms and fines. It's madness. Americans have the most freedom of any people that have ever lived and they use it the least. American Christianity's appalling refusal to fill the open air with the glory of God through the preaching of the Word of God is a crime against God, perishing sinners, the Great Commission, and the providential gift of the 1st Amendment! Praise God for the 1st Amendment and "Go therefore!" in obedience to Christ's Great Commission Command, following Christ's example, following the Apostles' example, preaching the Word of God in the open air wherever perishing sinners are found from sea to shining sea...and across the seas too!

We handed out thousands of Gospel tracts (paper missionaries) to men and women on the streets of Scotland. This 94 year old Scottish gentleman went to some trouble to take a tract and he assured me he'd read it when he got to his car. I pray he did and thousands more too!

The beautiful thing about paper missionaries is that long after we've come (filled Scotland's streets with the Gospel) and gone again...the PAPER MISSIONARIES are still being read and re-read by those we gave them to and by their friends and family members too. They will find the hands and hearts of those whom the Lord is calling!

Praise God! The preaching of His Word in the open air is always 100% profitable! Sometimes crowds form. Sometimes people walk by and hear more truth in 30 seconds than they've heard in 30 years. Sometimes people stand or sit on the peripherals where they can listen discretely.

"How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?...So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." -Romans 10:14-15 & 17
