Despite the windstorm, we'll be meeting tomorrow 11am at Valley Reformation Church!

We meet at Jody's Greatroom (1887 E Fairview Loop, Wasilla) and the meeting location has a generator running.

Tomorrow is a potluck Sunday, so feel free to come join us afterwards as well! I'll be preaching on, "Healthy Church Members Seek Discipline."

There’s a lot of good in our new church constitution at Valley Reformation Church, but here’s a couple of noteworthy things that I appreciate about it!

- Our church government is not democratically run congregational, but covenantal/a constitutional republic. This strikes a good balance between being truly elder led, but also encouraging appropriate member participation.

- We are a Reformed church, and allow for leadership to subscribe to any of the major Reformed confessions (with normal exceptions). As such we are not exclusively paedo or credo baptist as a church.

- Our leadership precommits to pursue mediation outside of our church in the event that matters cannot be resolved within. While preserving the God-given autonomy of the local church, this acknowledges the biblical role of the wider church in disputes.

- Our member voting is by head of household. We encourage communication and agreement within families, but understand and acknowledge the God given headship of the husband/father over the family.
