God in Alaska

Again, I know we don’t post a lot and it’s sort of on purpose. The Lord has had many opportunities to shine and share His goodness with others.

Men’s Bible study just wound down with some amazing men that was hitting right on a year together meeting weekly. We covered a huge chunk of the New Testament, journaling, talking, praying with/for, encouraging, and accountability to each other. Happy to know Bible study groups have started from this group of men since it’s ending. Honored to be apart of such an amazing group of men of God.

Blessed to be apart of a marriage group on Wednesday’s that is happening in our home. We have been meeting for more than 6 months or so.

Every other Thursday we enjoy worshipping and being stirred and sometimes stirring others with the sharing of Scripture with some amazing families in Palmer. Amazing fellowship!! Going on 2 years almost.

Volunteer coaching youth basketball league teams of kindergartners and 1st/2nd grade kids has been a highlight for the past 4 seasons. I’ve really enjoyed this!

Rebecca has been a tremendous help and support in all these things!! I love how she has been a bright light in her nursing workplace. She is/shares Christ in such a gentle and compassionate way. She is truly a server and peacemaker.

Many other things of people we have been able to love and serve, feed, bless with financial blessings. Just don’t want to post those private specifics. Also, many that have encouraged us on!!!!

We don’t share very often or too much of what we do up here (like folks might expect), so here’s a little update. Great ministry up here that are the hands and feet of Jesus. Blessed to serve and encourage those that serve. We have had the pleasure of cooking for and encouraging on a few meals to few of the many teams they had come up this year. Defiantly made some friends 🙂 Hard working folks.

We haven’t done an update in a while so here comes one from few weeks back.

Alaska Missions & Retreats does amazing work here in Alaska on so many different fronts. We are thankful we get to hop in alongside all their hard work every so often. Jackson and I walked along the beach praying for/with Alaskan residents who were dipnetting to feed their families. We helped in any facet we could whether it was providing first aid to a fellow who cut his hand while filleting fish, lugging up coolers and gear to and fro from beach to parking lot, or directing them to the teams at the tents. Back at the tents teams were feeding folks hot dogs, giving them drinks, handing out bibles, painting kids faces, doing arts and crafts, and helping be and share the gospel to adults and children. They held multiple services a day, and had tents just to sit and talk. They are epic blessing to folks!!!

Alaskans are very independent people, and when strangers offer help it’s often refused, but when accepted inevitably they would ask “Why are you willing to do this?” That’s where Jackson and I would tell them “It’s because of the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ that saved us to want to love and care for others the way we know He does for us!” Some would wrinkle their nose, some would shake their head, a few would say they knew Him too (hooray), and others would tell you they don’t believe in that stuff. I reminded myself and Jackson that their response is not on us. Our responsibility is just that with gentleness, kindness, and respect we profess/share about this hope we have in Jesus….and let it land where it may!

Couple weeks back we helped a long established Mission/Missionary based out of Soldatna gather up over 80 folks from the Anchorage airport to go and work Christian Summer Sports camp down in Kenai area. They share the gospel, feed kiddos, and encourage them to be active physically. Excited about the work the Alaskan Missions team does!!

What we did was nothing super glamorous by the worlds standards, but was NEEDED. Helped stage vans and pick up drivers, so they could go serve and further the Kingdom of God. This is just one of the many simple ways to serve. Thank you Lord for allowing us to have a small part of this. Check out Alaska Missions & Retreats they are doing great things on a big scale for folks here in Alaska!!

We love feeding folks!! Couple weeks ago we cooked for 14 folks that were serving a mission base up here. We encouraged them in the work they are doing here in Alaska (much needed).

Last night we grilled up 30 burgers for families and folks that are missionaries mostly to other countries that call Alaska their home place. Always a blessing to worship and fellowship along brothers and sisters in Christ!! Was a beautiful evening, and the kids enjoyed running around late into the sunny night, lol. Serving those that serve, encouraging those that seek and serve the Father!

HOPE YALL ARE READY FOR SOME UPDATES!!

This is what it looked like BEING JESUS a little more than a week ago!! Serving those that are serving the long run! Have to brag on Jackson who worked his tail off like a grown man!!

We helped plant potatoes for our good missionary family friends in Palmer!! They do mission work all over the world. They just got back from setting up some missionary/discipleship schools with some other missionaries, but much of their adventures/work have been over in Africa. Great folks that live life every day on MISSION FOR CHRIST!!

Different missionary, different cabin (their personal property), and amazing views!! Family came with us this time! Their mission work has been in India!! Blessed to be a blessing!!

We know we don’t post a lot (on purpose), but today Jackson and I had the honor of serving by doing demolition with another missionary on their recently acquired property. We love to support the long runners how and when we can. Be Jesus in many different ways!! We got the log cabin completely gutted!! Should have taken some after 🤷🏼‍♂️
