Immanuel Lutheran Church and School Washington Missouri Immanuel Lutheran School exists to enable and promote academic achievement in children.

Students at Immanuel Lutheran School have been receiving a high-quality Christian education for nearly 150 years. In 1863, the congregation decided to establish an elementary school and Immanuel Lutheran School was opened. We have a rich tradition of teaching more than just academics to our children. We continue to keep in this tradition by teaching to the whole child – spiritually, academically,

and socially. We believe that Christian education builds self-esteem with solid values that our students will appreciate and use the rest of their life. Treating students individually allows them to grow at a pace that challenges but does not overwhelm them. We try to foster a sense of accomplishment, necessary for every child. Not only will your child begin the steps toward academic excellence, but they will have fun doing it! Educating the spiritual aspect of a child has always been the major focus of Immanuel. Through weekly chapel services and daily religion lessons, a student’s faith is nurtured and strengthened. Teachers also play an important role in faith development as they model their faith to children. Students are taught much more than the core academic areas of religion, mathematics, language arts, science, and history. In the continual goal of meeting the needs of the whole child, Immanuel offers students foreign language classes, music education, computer classes, problem solving lessons, and more. Students consistently score at or above grade level on standardized tests with the help of dedicated teachers. A simple concept is taught to all the students at Immanuel – take pride in what’s been given to you. This thought is encouraged in the homework they complete, the relationships they establish, and in the school itself. Students assist with many jobs around the school, giving them ownership and pride in their school. There are plenty of team-building activities for students to participate in while at Immanuel, including sports, choir, band, handbells, and student council. 🌟 Staff Spotlight 🌟

Today we’re excited to spotlight Mrs. Tabitha Holtmeyer, our Early Childhood Director!

Mrs. Holtmeyer completed the Colloquy Program through Concordia University Chicago and is now a Called LCMS teacher. We are so grateful for the many gifts she brings to the ministry at Immanuel!

As a member of our administrative team, Mrs. Holtmeyer keeps us organized, is a master at scheduling, and is always a friendly and welcoming face for our students and families. She has a special gift for working with our littlest Crusaders and their families, creating a loving, Christ-centered environment where they can grow and thrive. Her heart for Immanuel and, most importantly, for our Lord shines through in all she does!

Mrs. Holtmeyer’s connection to Immanuel spans generations! She is an Immanuel alumna, her mother attended Immanuel, and now her three daughters are Immanuel students. That’s three generations of Immanuel students! 💙

We are incredibly thankful for Mrs. Holtmeyer and the faithful service, leadership, joy, and love she brings to Immanuel each day. We are so blessed to have you, Tabitha!

⭐ Staff Spotlight ⭐

Meet Senior Pastor Craig Wehmeyer! Pastor Craig earned his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science from Truman State University and his Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis.

In addition to serving as Immanuel’s Senior Pastor, Pastor Craig teaches Religion to our 7th and 8th grade students, helping them grow deeper in their knowledge of God’s Word and their faith in Christ.

Pastor Craig is also known for his green thumb 🌱 and his impressive supply of dad jokes! Whether he’s preaching, teaching, tending to plants, or making students groan with another joke, Pastor Craig is a blessing to our Immanuel family.

We are thankful for Pastor Craig and his faithful service to Immanuel as he shares the love of Christ with our students, families, and congregation!

Our Director of Youth and Family Ministries, Mr. Jacob Adams, along with our wonderful team of youth leaders, led our 6th–12th grade youth and their families in an evening of devotion, fellowship, food, games, and plenty of fun!

We’re thankful for our young people, their families, and our youth leaders who help make these opportunities possible. We’re excited for another great year of growing together in faith and fellowship at Immanuel! 🙌
