Today was a hard day for me. I pray constantly for answers from God. As I have been praying for direction, God gave me an answer that was difficult to swallow. As it is said, “If you don’t want to know the answer, don’t ask God.” The last few weeks God has been telling me I have a season that was coming to a close. I asked God, “What season is coming to a close?” God answered with my time as pastor of Nazareth Baptist Church.
At first, I could not believe that was what I was told. I kept praying to be sure that was the answer. You know Satan tries to sound like God to deceive us. The answer kept coming back as the same response. God does not make mistakes in His commands.
Today, I resigned as pastor of the historic Nazareth Baptist Church at the end of service. It hurt to give the news, but I have to practice what I preach and be obedient to the call God puts on my life. I will be okay because I put everything in God’s hands. “Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.” This does not mean I am leaving the ministry, it means I will be working harder to save souls outside of the church. Same man, still with a higher purpose. The job does not change.
I love and thank everyone who has supported my journey over the last 17 years in ministry. I thank my church family for loving and supporting me the last 46 years at Nazareth. This is not completely goodbye, but see you later.
I ask everyone to not read into this and try to come up with reasons. It is simply God’s call on my life. So, if you are looking for a juicy story, there is not one. Please respect what God is leading me to do. I love you all!
