Rosemary Church of Christ

Rosemary Church of Christ Worship Service: 10:30 am

Tuesday night service: 7:00 pm We are committed to the Lordship of Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the living God, and our Savior.

Rosemary Church of Christ is an independent body of believers that identifies with the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ. It is the aim of this body of believers to promote and practice Christianity in our lives; following the example of Jesus Christ and His apostles as revealed in the New Testament. As a community of believers we take seriously the Biblical teaching to preach the gospel to ev

ery nation and to care for the poor, the orphans and widows, and to pass along Apostolic teaching to able men. We support a wide range of evangelistic efforts in Africa, the Philippines, Europe, Asia and North America. We are committed to worship that focuses on preaching the Gospel and a weekly gathering for the Lord's Supper. We are committed to the work of the Holy Spirit as both an agent in conversion and a dweller in the heart of the Christian. We are committed to the belief from Scripture that people come to a relationship with Jesus as Savior through HEARING the Word, FAITH in the redeeming power of Jesus, REPENTANCE of sin, CONFESSION of Jesus as Lord, and BAPTISM (immersion in water). It is the position of this body of believers to be simply Christians, and we encourage all who share that view to join us in celebrating Christ. You are invited to worship and study with us at any and all services of this congregation.

“And he awoke and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” — Mark 4:39

Peace in the Middle

There is something interesting about this passage. Jesus did not stop the storm before it started. He did not steer the disciples around it. He did not even calm it the moment the first wave hit the boat.

Instead, He was with them in it.

The disciples looked around and saw wind, waves, and danger. Jesus looked around and saw an opportunity for faith to grow.

Many of us spend our time asking God to remove every storm. Yet some of the greatest lessons of trust are learned when the storm remains for a season. We discover that His presence is more dependable than calm circumstances.

The same Savior who spoke to the Sea of Galilee still speaks peace into troubled hearts today. He reminds us that our security is not found in smooth waters but in the One who rides through the waves with us.

Perhaps your storm is uncertainty. Perhaps it is disappointment. Perhaps it is watching someone you love struggle. Whatever it may be, the answer is still the same: keep your eyes on Christ.

The storm may be loud, but His voice is louder.

The disciples learned that day that the size of the storm was not nearly as important as the One in the boat.

And so it is for us.

Thought for Today

Faith is not believing there will never be storms. Faith is believing that Jesus remains Lord even when the waves are crashing around us.

So remember, when the storms of life arise around us,Jesus is still in the middle with us. He is present and in control. Allow the storms to strengthen your faith. Let peace rule your heart not fear. There is no storm greater than our Savior.

Growing Together

“Are we growing together, or are we just growing separately in the same direction?”

A church can be filled with people who love Jesus, attend worship, read their Bibles, and serve faithfully, yet still miss something important—growing together.

God never intended for believers to walk alone. Scripture describes the church as a body, “fitly joined together” (Ephesians 4:16). Every member is connected. Every member matters. When one hurts, we all hurt. When one rejoices, we all rejoice.

It is possible to sit in the same pews, sing the same songs, and support the same ministries while remaining disconnected from one another. True spiritual maturity is not only measured by how much we know about Christ, but by how much we love and care for His people.

Jesus said, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:35)

Today, ask yourself: Am I merely growing in the same direction as my church family, or am I growing together with them?

The strongest churches are not those with the most programs. They are those where God’s people are united in love, grace, and purpose.

Let’s grow together.

Baby Food for Growing Believers

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” — Ephesians 4:29

Words are powerful. They can build up or tear down, encourage or discourage, heal or wound.

In our culture, foul language has become so common that many people hardly notice it anymore. Sadly, this attitude has even found its way into the lives of some believers. But followers of Christ are called to be different. Our speech should reflect the One who lives within us.

Paul doesn’t simply tell us what to avoid; he tells us what to pursue. Instead of words that are corrupt, crude, or harmful, we are to speak words that edify—words that strengthen, encourage, and minister grace to others.

A mature believer understands that spiritual growth affects every area of life, including the tongue. Jesus said, “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” When Christ is filling our hearts, His character should be evident in our conversations.

Before speaking, posting, texting, or commenting, ask yourself:

• Does this build someone up?
• Does this honor Christ?
• Does this minister grace to those who hear it?

The goal isn’t merely cleaning up our vocabulary. The goal is allowing the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts so that our words become a blessing to everyone around us.

Just the facts ma’am. Just the Facts.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character… for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.” — Acts 17:11

We live in a world where information spreads faster than ever. One click can share a story, warning, accusation, or “fact” with hundreds of people in seconds. But as followers of Christ, we are called to be people of truth — not just people of reaction.

The Bereans did not blindly accept something simply because a respected leader said it. They searched, examined, and checked the facts carefully. What a needed lesson for us today.

Just because a friend posts it…
Just because a church member shares it…
Just because it sounds convincing…
Does not automatically make it true.

Before we repost, react, or spread something online, we should prayerfully ask:
Is it true?
Is it helpful?
Have I verified it myself?
Will this honor Christ?

False information can damage reputations, spread fear, and divide people unnecessarily. As Christians, our words — and even our posts — should reflect integrity, wisdom, and grace.

May we be known not for spreading rumors, but for spreading truth.

Don’t Stay Tired

Some mornings we wake up already tired.

Tired in body.
Tired in mind.
Tired in spirit.

Life has a way of interrupting our plans with sickness, disappointment, setbacks, and seasons we never expected. Sometimes we feel weak simply because we’ve been fighting too many battles at once.

Yet God speaks gently into our weakness:

“He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.” — Isaiah 40:29

Notice what Scripture does not say. It does not say God only strengthens the strong, the fearless, or the people who have it all together. He gives strength to the weak.

That means your exhaustion does not disqualify you from God’s help — it qualifies you to receive it.

When your own strength runs out, His has not.

Today, if your heart feels heavy or your mind feels weary, stop striving for a moment and simply lean into Him. God is not asking you to carry everything alone. He is inviting you to rest in His strength instead of your own.

Whatever you are facing this morning, take courage:
The same God who created the heavens is able to sustain you through this season.

Lord, when I feel weak, remind me that Your strength is greater than my limitations. Renew my heart, steady my mind, and help me trust You one step at a time. Amen

A-B-C -Jesus loves me…

Z — Zeal for the Lord

“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” — Romans 12:11

Zeal is passion with purpose.

A heart that loves God deeply will desire to serve Him wholeheartedly—not out of obligation, but out of love.

May you start today and every day with a zealous heart to serve Him with joy, passion, and faithfulness.

Y — Yield to God’s Will

“Not my will, but Yours be done.” — Luke 22:42

Yielding means surrender.

It’s choosing God’s way over your own—even when it’s difficult or unclear. But in surrender, we find peace and purpose.

Today, release your plans and trust God’s will for your life.

X — eXamine Your Heart

“Search me, O God, and know my heart…” — Psalm 139:23

Growth requires honesty.

Taking time to examine your heart allows God to reveal what needs to change, heal, or grow. He’s just waiting for you to ask.

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24

W — Walk in the Spirit

“Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” — Galatians 5:16

We’re not meant to live this life in our own strength.

God gives us His Spirit to guide, convict, and strengthen us daily. When we follow His lead, our lives begin to reflect Him more and more.

Today, slow down and listen—let the Holy Spirit guide your steps.

V — Value What God Values

“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” — Matthew 6:21

What matters most to God should matter most to us.

The world values success, status, and things—but God values love, humility, obedience, and people.

Today, take a moment to reflect—what am I valuing most right now. Are my values reflecting Jesus or the world?
