Join us for our church picnic after worship this Sunday, June 14th! We’ll eat around 11:00 a.m. and enjoy games until about 1:00 p.m.

We’re excited to welcome guests from South Point Assisted Living as part of our mission of inclusion and community. They are excited to be included and looking forward to it!

Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided—please bring a side dish to share. Lawn chairs and sunscreen are encouraged!

We will have face painting, frisbee, hula hoops and more for the young and young at heart, and co****le and can jam for the more experienced members. There will also be a cupcake walk and Bingo for everyone.

Volunteers are welcome to help set up tables and chairs on Saturday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m.

If weather does not cooperate, the picnic will move indoors, and activities will be adjusted accordingly.

Our next Outdoor Family Movie Night will be Sunday, June 28th! We will enjoy popcorn, slushies, and a family movie outside the church.

Gathering outside the church begins at 7:30pm and the movie will start at sundown.

These movie nights take place on the last Sunday of the month, so mark your calendars and don't forget to invite your family and friends!

New Sermon Series: Summer in the Psalms

The Psalms are more than ancient worship songs - they are honest prayers for every season of life. This five-week summer series explores how the Psalms give voice to praise, grief, trust, wisdom, and gratitude. Together, we discover that faith is not about pretending life is perfect, but bringing every emotion and experience before God.

This is a reminder that the makeup membership class is TONIGHT, June 9th at 6pm.

For those who were unable to attend the membership class May 31st but are still interested in learning how they could be more involved at First Washington, a makeup class will take place at the church. The class will also be available on Zoom for those who can’t be there in person.

On Saturday, June 27th, First Washington UMC will be helping St. Peter's UCC run the Harvest Table outreach meal from 4pm-6:30pm at St. Peter's UCC on Fifth Street. Volunteers are needed to help set up, serve, and clean up afterwards. Please contact Deb Warren with any questions or to volunteer.
