Thank You to all Who Joined Us!

We’re so grateful to everyone who attended the Open House yesterday at the Presbytery Center. Your presence made the day truly special, and it was wonderful to share our newly renovated space with you.

A heartfelt thank‑you to our dedicated staff for all their hard work in preparing for the event, and to Elder Jane Noble for providing a delicious lunch that everyone enjoyed!

Your support and enthusiasm remind us what a blessing it is to serve together in ministry and fellowship.

✨ Interim EP Church Visit: Harmony Presbyterian Church ✨

One of my favorite parts of serving as your Interim Executive Presbyter is getting to visit our congregations across Washington Presbytery — and this past Sunday was a joy!

I worshiped with the faithful folks at Harmony Presbyterian Church in Wind Ridge, and what a blessing they have in CRE Linda Shaw. Not only does she preach a solid, faithful sermon — she plays the organ for them, too! 🎶

Linda's message drew from John 6:1-21, reminding us that when Jesus faced an overwhelming need with only a few loaves and fish, He made much out of very little. The good news? With Jesus walking beside us, we can do the same. 🙏

Though small in number, this congregation offers faithful worship and steadfast mission to their community in Wind Ridge. A beautiful reminder that God's kingdom grows through congregations of every size.

Grateful for you, Harmony! Where should I visit next? 💙

More than 330,000 Haitians could lose Temporary Protected Status (TPS) following the U.S. Supreme Court's June 25 decision allowing the administration to end these protections. People of faith have an opportunity to make their voices hear and stand up for our neighbors, church members, and community leaders reliant on TPS. The House has already passed legislation to extend TPS protections for Haitians through 2029, and the same bill—S. 4814—has been introduced in the Senate. Now, Senate leadership needs to hear from people of faith. Contact your Senators today .net/pcusa and urge them to support S. 4814 and protect Haitian families and communities.

Highlights from our May 12 Presbytery Meeting

What a meaningful evening together! 🙏

We gave thanks for Interim Executive Presbyter Jeri-Lynne Bouterse, who preached a heartfelt farewell sermon as she prepares to conclude her term this summer.

We honored the legacy of Langeloth Community Presbyterian Church as it closes, with RE John E. Sieg sharing its rich history.

We remembered the Ruling Elders who joined the Church Triumphant in 2025, with names read by Moderator Charles Bowers and Vice Moderator Ben Libert.

We celebrated TE Debbie Smith as she retires May 31; thank you for your faithful ministry!

And we joyfully welcomed Candidate Kable Dale, surrounding him in prayer as he answers God's call.

To God be the glory! ✝️

"Since at least World War II, the PC(USA)’s approach to global mission has been continuously evolving beyond the former practice of sending 'the West to the rest.'"

When the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) replaced the title of “missionary” with “mission co-worker” decades ago, it signaled a theological shift that had been taking shape since after World War II: The denomination was no longer primarily a sender but a partner. The launch of Global Ecumenical Partnerships (GEP) in 2025 deepened that shift, centering relational accompaniment — a posture of walking with rather than going to — as the defining practice of faithful ministry.
