We are watching a developing severe weather setup that is going to ramp up late tomorrow afternoon into tomorrow night across our area.

By late Tuesday afternoon, storms are going to start firing. At first, they will be scattered. These early storms have the best shot at producing very large hail and possibly tornadoes. We are looking at golf ball to baseball size hail, with a chance for even larger in the strongest storms. And yes, a few tornadoes are on the table. Not everywhere, but it only takes one. If a storm stays in that warm, unstable air, it can start rotating. That is when things can escalate quickly.

As we head into the evening, things begin to evolve. These storms may start to cluster and organize into a line. That changes the threat. The tornado risk becomes lower overall, but it does not disappear completely. The bigger concern shifts to damaging straight line winds. Potential gusts of 60 to 80 miles per hour. That is strong enough to bring down trees, damage roofs, and cause power outages. Hail can still be embedded in these storms, but wind becomes the main story as the line pushes through.

Make sure your phone is charged. Turn on weather alerts, and make sure you have a backup way to receive warnings if the power goes out. Know your safe place, the lowest level of your home in an interior room away from windows, and move there immediately if a warning is issued without hesitation. I want you thinking about this now, not later.

The women's full time leader needs to step out for softball season to cheer her daughter on. Our children's care team is stretched thin with families of their own along with vacations. Thank you.
