The Piarist Fathers of the United States and Puerto Rico are pleased to share with you The Piarist Fathers Compassion Challenge. As members of a religious order, we take four vows: poverty, chastity, obedience and education of youth, especi

ally the poor. As a religious order, we have a number of ministries and some special projects, which we undertake annually. The success of our ministries and projects relies heavily upon the financial generosity of people like you - our alumni, parishioners, co-workers, relatives and friends. The Compassion Challenge focuses on numerous projects: The Adopt-a-Seminarian Project, St. Joseph Calasanz House of Formation, The Piarist Fathers Latin Mission Project, The Piarist Fathers Puerto Rico Mission, The Piarist Fathers Guatemala Mission, The Colegio Calasanz Tuition Assistance Project, The Houston Initiative, St. Joachim Academy Project, Cuba Project, Planned Giving/Estate Planning to the Piarist Fathers The Piarist School Tuition Assistance Project The Piarist Fathers Language Studies Project and The Retired Piarist Fathers Project. Descanse en paz el P. Alberto Moreno Rodríguez de la Virgen de Covadonga (11) que falleció el 6 de septiembre en Alcalá de Henares (España) a la edad de 83 años. Fue religioso escolapio 66 años. Damos gracias a Dios por su vida y por su servicio a la Orden. “El Señor es mi Pastor, nada me falta” Sal 23.

Hoy, 8 de septiembre, celebramos a Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre, la Patrona de Cuba. Una fecha que nos recuerda que, más allá de las dificultades, la fe y la esperanza son el faro que ilumina el camino de nuestro pueblo.

En un momento en que tantos cubanos enfrentan carencias y el peso de un contexto económico cada vez más difícil, la Virgen Mambisa nos invita a no perder la fe, a mirar hacia adelante con la certeza de que la unión y la solidaridad son nuestra mayor fortaleza. Ella, que fue encontrada flotando en la bahía de Nipe como un signo de salvación, sigue siendo un símbolo de consuelo y auxilio en medio de las pruebas.

Que la Caridad del Cobre interceda por todos nosotros. Que nos dé la fuerza para seguir luchando y la luz para no rendirnos nunca. Que su manto de protección nos cubra y nos una como el pueblo hermano que somos.

¡Feliz Día de la Caridad, Cuba! 🇨🇺💙
