On this Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the legacy of Elie Wiesel, added to the Cathedral's Human Rights Porch last fall:

"God of justice, peace and mercy, we remember this day the 6 million Jews murdered in the horror and brutality of the Holocaust, and the millions of people killed under N**i persecution. We honor the memory of those men, women, and children who perished in this tragedy. We also remember those who survived and shared their stories so that our world might never repeat such a time in human history. On this day of remembrance, may we never forget the Holocaust and its lessons for humanity.

Turn the hearts of all who persecute and oppress, and of all who seek to divide us one from another, that in your good time, all nations and races may serve you in harmony in this life. May we come to know, as the human family, a world free from hatred and one filled with your peace. In your Holy Name, we pray. Amen."
