250: A National Jubilee Of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving

Praise the Lord that we can come together, worship, repent and lift our praises up to Lord Jesus! What a special moment with fellow believers.

Such a special time at the launch of She Leads DC — worship, prayer, and honoring courageous women of faith. We were so glad to be a part of it.

Especially meaningful as we remembered our dear Peggy Nienaber, former Senior VP of Faith & Liberty and who was also a She Leads Director. Her twin sister and daughter accepted her award in honor of her beautiful legacy. Proverbs 31:31.

2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

In the lead-up to the National Day of Prayer, we gathered and prayed at the Capitol building for The Rooftop National Encounter.

Just as Peter encountered God on the rooftop in Acts 10 and saw His mission with new eyes, we prayed for a new perspective. We asked God to realign our hearts with His heart and His mission, all for His glory.

So grateful for John Whaley and The Rooftop ministry. A special thank you to office and the Speaker’s office for helping make this event happen.

Thank you, Speaker Johnson, for your heartfelt and thoughtful condolences. Today, we honor and celebrate the life and legacy of our friend and colleague, Peggy Nienaber. Hers was a life well-lived as she worked to bring the hope and truth of the Gospel to Capitol Hill for decades.

We’re deeply grateful for the members of Congress and all who took part in Faith & Liberty’s America 250 Congressional Bible Reading Marathon this year, lifting up God’s Word with humility and reverence.

This year, members were able to choose a passage of their own. We heard passages from Psalms, Joshua, Romans, Hebrews, and beyond, each pointing us to God’s faithfulness and truth.

As America marks its 250th year, may we be grateful for the freedom to read and live out our faith, and continue to pray for those on the front lines walking out their faith and serving our country, such as our devoted members of Congress.
