Today, the Progressive National Baptist Convention joyfully celebrates the birthday of our President, Rev. Dr. Keith W. Byrd, Sr.

We thank God for his visionary leadership, faithful ministry, and unwavering commitment to fellowship, progress, service, and peace. His dedication continues to inspire our convention as we strengthen our prophetic witness and advance the work God has entrusted to us.

Please join the entire PNBC family in wishing Rev. Dr. Byrd a very happy and blessed birthday. May God grant him continued wisdom, strength, favor, and many more years of impactful ministry and service.

Today was a great day in Washington, D.C., as members and friends of the Progressive National Baptist Convention joined thousands for the March on Washington: Defend the Vote.

This was more than a commemoration of a historic march. It was a demonstration of our continuing determination, alongside so many others, to defend the right to vote, protect our democracy, and stand against efforts to turn back the progress for which generations before us struggled and sacrificed.

We are grateful to every member, pastor, leader, partner, and friend who joined us in Washington today. Thank you for showing up and standing with us.

We also want to acknowledge those who planned to be with us but were unable to make the journey. Unfortunately, several buses scheduled to bring participants to Washington were canceled at the last minute. We know that people took time away from work, rearranged schedules, and made other sacrifices in preparation for today. We deeply regret the disappointment and inconvenience this caused, and we offer our sincere apologies to each of you.

But today also reminds us that our work does not end with a march.

We leave Washington even more determined to organize, mobilize, defend the right to vote, and prepare our communities for the midterm elections.

We marched today. Tomorrow, we keep moving forward.
