St. Mary's Episcopal Church Foggy Bottom We are an inclusive and spiritual parish focused on teaching God's word, following Christ's model and doing Christian work in the community. St.

Anchored in faith, St. Mary's strives to be a beacon for justice, peace and hope. Mary's Church is a multicultural, multigenerational parish of the Episcopal Church, located just steps from the Foggy Bottom/GWU Metro stop. We were the first African American Episcopal community in the City of Washington, founded in 1867. Our community includes families that have been with St. Mary's for generations

, recent immigrants from Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, and around the world, students, and recent transplants to the DC area.

Today is All Souls' Day. It is the third of a trio: Halloween, All Saints and All Souls. We will transfer and celebrate All Souls on tomorrow at 12:10pm in our Mid Week Worship. Join us for in-person worship at our parish church or here via Facebook Live. This commemoration of All Faithful Departed grounds us in mortality and in blessed hope as we remember the dead.
