The Mission of Takoma Park Baptist Church is to glorify God by becoming relevant in our world, real in our relationships with God and others, and radical in our discipleship, as committed followers of Jesus Christ. We are a historic church in a community and nation that is in desperate need of hope and healing. We believe that that hope comes from having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ a

nd through a church that is on mission for Him. That is why our Mission Statement challenges us to “glorify God by becoming relevant in our world, real in our relationships with God and others, and radical in our discipleship, as committed followers of Jesus Christ. If you are looking for a church that provides hope and healing; and seeks to be on mission for our Lord and Savior, then we welcome you to be in prayer, check out our website, and feel free to visit us during our weekly services.

What if feeling afraid doesn’t mean your faith is failing?
Peter had enough faith to step out of the boat—and still had a moment when fear took over.
But when the wind got his attention, Peter did something important:
He called on Jesus. 🙏🏾
Sometimes faith isn’t the absence of fear. Sometimes faith is knowing where to turn when fear shows up.
So whatever the “wind” looks like in your life this week, don’t let it convince you that your faith is gone.
Turn your attention back to Jesus. ❤️
💬 What’s one truth about God you hold onto when fear gets loud?
📖 Matthew 14:29–31

You can have faith AND still have moments when you’re afraid. Read that again. ❤️
Peter had enough faith to step out of the boat… and still became afraid when he saw the wind.
But here’s what we can’t miss: when fear showed up, Peter knew who to call.
“Lord, save me!” 🙏🏾
And Jesus reached for him.
Fear showing up doesn’t automatically mean your faith is gone. Sometimes faith looks like turning your attention back to Jesus while the wind is still blowing.
💬 Let’s talk: What helps you refocus on God when fear or uncertainty gets loud?
👇🏾 Encourage somebody today—share this with the person who needs the reminder that feeling afraid doesn’t mean they’ve stopped believing.

Before the week fills up with appointments, responsibilities, notifications, and everything that needs your attention… check in with yourself. ❤️
What are you carrying into this week that you need to trust God with?
You may not have the answer yet. You may not know how everything will work out. But you can pray. You can breathe. And you can trust God with what’s been weighing on you.
💬 Monday Check-In: Finish this sentence in the comments:
“This week, I’m trusting God with ______.”
Someone reading your response may realize they’re not carrying it alone.

What if wellness isn’t only about what you do for your body—but also about what you allow to carry your mind? ❤️
Some things were never meant for you to carry alone.
This Wellness Month, make room to breathe. Make room to pray. Make room to trust God with what has been weighing on you.
You may not have every answer yet, but you can still choose faith over worry and peace over pressure.
💬 What’s one thing you’re trusting God with today?

Before you rush into everything today, take just a moment to pause.
Thank God for the prayers He answered.
Thank Him for the ones He's still working on.
Thank Him for the strength you didn't know you had.
And thank Him for His faithfulness that never changes.
No matter what this week has looked like, there's always a reason to give God thanks.
"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever." — Psalm 107:1
🙏 What is one thing you're thanking God for today? Share it below so we can celebrate His goodness together.

Today, let's pray for the kind of faith that keeps believing even when we can't see what's ahead.
Take a moment, press play, and pray with us.
"Lord, give me this faith. Help me believe in the middle of uncertainty."
If there's something you'd like us to pray for, leave it in the comments or simply write "Pray for me." Our church family will be praying with you this week.
"For we live by faith, not by sight." — 2 Corinthians 5:7

Sometimes the most faithful word you can say is "No."
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow to the king's image—not because they were rebellious, but because they had already devoted their worship to God.
Their courage reminds us that faith isn't just about what we believe. It's also about the choices we make when our convictions are tested.
This week, take a moment to ask yourself:
Where is God calling me to stand firm?
💬 We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
📖 Daniel 3:16–18
Our prayer team is praying that God gives you wisdom and courage to remain faithful, whatever this week brings.

Some of the biggest steps of faith happen before we can see the outcome.
God doesn't ask us to have all the answers. He asks us to trust Him enough to take the next step.
Maybe this week, He's calling you to trust Him with a decision...
A relationship...
Your health...
Your family...
Or your future.
📖 "For we walk by faith, not by sight." — 2 Corinthians 5:7
💬 What area of your life are you trusting God with right now? (One word or one sentence.)
Our prayer team would be honored to pray for you this week. ❤️
If this encouraged you, share it with someone who needs the reminder today.

🍞 Every first Sunday is more than a tradition. It's a reminder. 🍷
Before we rush into another month, we pause to remember the greatest act of love ever given.
Jesus said,
"Do this in remembrance of Me."
This First Sunday, gather with us as we celebrate Holy Communion, reflect on Christ's sacrifice, and rejoice in His amazing grace.
❤️ What does Communion mean to you?
Share one word in the comments that describes what Jesus has done in your life.
Invite someone to worship with you this Sunday. There is always room at the Lord's table.
