United Black Christians of United Church of Christ UBC recognizes that it is the Black Church that has meant survival for African Americans on these shores.

UBC represents lay and clergy persons who faithfully minister in predominately African American congregations of the United Church of Christ and those African American members in congregations that are not predominately African American. United Black Christians (UBC) is an officially recognized group of the United Church of Christ (UCC), providing voice and vision for more than 70,000 African Americans.UBC seeks to preserve our tradition as a people of faith and hope. UBC affirms that it is the Black Church that will assure our continued growth, development, endurance and ultimate liberation. UBC affirms that each of us has gifts to offer and is entitled to the full rights and privileges of the United Church of Christ.Our mantra: "Remembering Our Way Into the Future" ~ Zechariah 8:4-8

The King Center mourns the passing of Gloria Steinem, a pioneering voice for women’s rights and a longtime ally in the broader struggle for justice.

Gloria Steinem and our founder, Mrs. Coretta Scott King, understood that the movements for racial justice, women’s equality, economic justice, and peace were deeply connected. Across decades, they shared platforms, supported intersecting movements, and worked to move this nation closer to its promise.

We are grateful for Gloria’s courage, advocacy, and the respect she held for Mrs. King and her leadership.

Our prayers are with her family, loved ones, and all who are mourning her loss.

May she rest in peace.

🧊 As Immigration and Custom's Enforcement (ICE) continues to terrorize communities, separate families, and even kill citizens and non-citizens alike as part of this administration’s mass deportation campaign, there is also increased public scrutiny of this country’s detention center system for migrants.

🧊 In 2025 alone, ICE broke records for the number of people who have died in detention, most often due to the horrific conditions and lack of proper medical care. Since this administration's inauguration in 2025, 52 people have died in detention according to Human Rights Watch—four times that of the previous administration.
