Friends, we had a big win in the US House of Representatives when Democrats and Republicans came together to protect Haitians with Temporary Protected Status from being deported. Haiti has no functioning government, and those deported would immediately face life-challenging situations.

Now we move to the Senate, where legislation will be introduced next week by Sen. Markley of Massachusetts. We are asking clergy leaders from across the country to sign on to this letter urging the Senate to pass legislation sparing TPS holders from an uncertain and unsafe future. Please consider signing up from the link below.

Faith in Action International is a 501c3 organization. We do not support or endorse candidates or political parties. All donations are fully tax-deductible. If you have questions please contact Fr. John Baumann at [email protected].

The US House of Representatives has passed a bill to extend TPS for the Haitian community for another 3 years. This is a compassionate decision showing courage. We still need the Senate to pass it to make it law. Thank you to Congresswoman Pressley and all who fought for this.

Palm Sunday is not just a King's Day, it's the unveiling of the real King. This world's kings rule by fear, hoarding wealth while people suffer. Then there's Jesus, arriving not with soldiers, but with fishermen, not to be served, but to serve.
