Reminder. There will NOT be in person worship at Washburn UMC today. Join us in Varna at 9:15 or 11 for our parish wide Pentecost service.

Join us this Sunday, May 24th for services at 9:15 or 11:00. Fellowship time in between with lots of refreshment options. The Prairie River Parish churches will not hold services in any of the other communities on this Special Sunday - just the Varna UMC. ALL are welcome - and remember to wear red.

Stay home and stay safe tonight.

We've been watching the weather all day, and while earlier it showed just thunderstorms, things have shifted to once again being a tornado warning. Because we don't want anyone driving between towns, our Friday night Parish wide Good Friday service at Wenona St. John's UMC is now cancelled. Please stay inside and stay safe. We'll see you are our 6 Easter services this Sunday morning.

Due to the active Tornado Watch through 8:00 pm this evening, the Maundy Thursday worship service at Varna UMC has been cancelled. Please stay home and stay safe. We will have our Good Friday service at Wenona St. John's UMC tomorrow evening at 6:30 pm.

Parish Wide Picture Directory

We want to invite you to bring your family to church and sit for a quick picture that we can use for both an online and printed directory. The photo shoot is free for everyone. We will work out a price estimate for folks who’d like to purchase a physical copy of the directory at a later date. If you already have a nice family photo that you’d like to use instead, please e-mail it to pastor Will at [email protected]. Here is the schedule for this photo shoot. Pictures will be taken on a 1st come, 1st serve order.

Join us 6:30 this evening for our Parish wide Ash Wednesday service.

You have two ways to participate in Ash Wednesday today. First, come to Lacon UMC anytime between 12 pm and 2 pm for an Ash Wednesday reflective walkthrough. Then, join us at Washburn United Methodist Church tonight at 6:30 for a formal Ash Wednesday worship service. We hope to see you there.
