Everyone Is Interim
I want to encourage you to remember this essential truth: you will have a last day—and so will I.
Currently, I may have the title “Pastor,” but I often remind myself that this role is only for a season. Me being a Pastor is temporary, and it cannot be my identity or the source of my worth.
My life, identity, and worth is to be rooted in something far more lasting: I am a child of God.
That was true before I ever had a ministry title, and it will remain true long after people have forgotten my name.
Of course, this does not mean that I should neglect my responsibilities or give less than my best.
Instead I, we are called to serve faithfully, to take ownership, and give our very best for the work God has entrusted to us.
But we must also remember that our lives are larger than our titles—and even larger than our ministries.
When that final day comes, may it be a day of rejoicing: a day when we can look back with gratitude, knowing that we left things better than we found them. And that we faithfully served God’s people, and glorified Him through everything we were entrusted with.
