Jesus loves the little children and so do we! In union with our whole church tomorrow we will be praying for each of the youngest amongst us by name in the prayers of the church. Join us as we unite in prayer for our greatest treasures!

One of the hardest things to do is to ask for forgiveness to say “I’m Sorry” and to reconcile. Yet as those who are called to love one another this confession and forgiveness is essential for the Christian life. As St Paul says we do not keep count of the cost we have against each other, “Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law”-Romans 13:8. Keeping score has no place in the church! We owe nothing but love. Join us Sunday as we confess and are forgiven! 8:30&11am.

August 28th commemorates St. Augustine, Pastor and Theologian. Born in AD 354, his early life followed the way of the world in moral laxity, even fathering an illegitimate son. Through the prayers of his mother Monica and the preaching of Ambrose, Bishop of Milan, God called him by the Gospel to faith in Christ. After his conversion, Augustine was a great defender of the orthodox faith. In 395, he became the bishop of Hippo in North Africa until his death in 430. A man of great intelligence, Augustine wrote many books including Confessions and City of God. “Augustine was one of the greatest of the Latin Church Fathers and a significant influence in the formation of the Western Christianity, including Lutheranism.” (667)

Let us pray: “O Lord God, the light of the minds that know you, the life of the souls that love You, and the strength of the hearts that serve You, give us strength to follow the example of Your servant Augustine of Hippo, so that knowing you we may truly love You and loving You we may fully serve You—for to serve You is perfect freedom; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.” Amen.

How do Christians live? That is the question St Paul asks in light of seeking unity in Christ against the things that divide us. We live by loving and seeking the good things of God! We mess up every week and that is why we run back to him, but it doesn’t mean we stop seeking the good things he has given us to do. Life can be so much better, join us Sunday as we seek the good again! 8:30&11am.
